Become A Mobile Tester

User Testing

KEXP relies on users and volunteers to help us test our digital products, and we'd love your help!

There are two different ways you can help us test our apps and digital products:

  1. Through user testing our mobile apps on iOS and Android
  2. Through usability testing designs, which range from our website to future products in our roadmap; select here to learn more about usability testing

iOS/Android Testing

In 2025, we released a brand new mobile app for iOS and Android, and we are working on fixing bugs, making improvements to the interface, and gearing up for some brand new features.

If you are currently a tester and would like to remove yourself from the testing program, learn how here.

Test iOS

  1. On your mobile device, tap here to start testing iOS.
  2. If you do not have TestFlight installed on your device, you will be prompted to install TestFlight.
  3. Once you have TestFlight (or if you already have TestFlight) the link above will also open a screen for you to install the KEXP beta app. Install and tap “Open” to use the app.

Test Android

  1. On your mobile device, tap here to start testing Android
  2. In the “Join the beta” box, select “Join”
  3. On the KEXP app screen, you will see “Joining beta…”

It may take a few minutes up to a half hour to be registered as a tester.

You will know you have entered the Beta tester group when (Beta) appears next to the app name at the top of the screen.
  4. Tap “Install” if you do not currently have the app installed, otherwise tap “Update”.

    Note:
The Play store may indicate you are a beta tester before the beta build is available to you.
If this is the case, check back in a few minutes after the store indicates that you have the Beta app and look for the “Update” button.

The new app will look similar to the images here (displayed in dark and light mode).

Usability Testing

Usability testers help KEXP's UX design and software development team create better websites, apps, and digital products by testing designs, sometimes before we even build them.

Would you like to help test KEXP’s products to make them better for everyone? We are looking for volunteers to try our products!

Sign up to volunteer, or if you’ve already signed up to be a usability tester, check Shiftboard for new testing opportunities.
