Dallas born-and-raised Jazzmeia Horn is not just a vocalist, or even just a musician, she’s a trailblazer. As the first woman in the history of music to arrange, produce, write, sing, and record a big band album, Horn’s aspirations are anything but small. Speaking with KEXP’s Larry Mizell Jr., she goes into the hard work it took to manage such a big project as well her prophesied beginnings. Her latest album Dear Love is available on Empress Legacy Records.
Recorded 12/07/2021.
