
Every year on November 13th, DJ John Richards produces the Mom Show, a beautiful three-hour program of remembrance and reflection. The show began as a memorial for his own mother after she passed away from cancer, and with an outpouring of support from KEXP listeners, has evolved into a tribute to all our loved ones who have died. The show has since evolved into the event Death & Music, an evening with musical guests and personal stories that explore the intersection of death and music and how they feed into one another.

Death & Music is an event created by John Richards and Dr. Amy Lindsey over a decade ago when they wanted to make a physical space that correlated with the on-air space created for sharing stories and connecting through music and grief (The Mom Show and Music Heals: Grief.)
