Just when a global pandemic, widespread social injustice, and wildfires all over the West Coast threatened to forever subsume us all in the neverending nightmare that is 2020, Robin Pecknold's clarion voice cuts through the sky to offer us some comfort.
Three (admittedly long) years after Crack-Up, Fleet Foxes have announced the impending release of Shore, their fourth full-length album, courtesy of ANTI-. Shore will be available tomorrow morning (Tuesday, September 22, 2020), precisely at 6:31am PST (that's 9:31am for our friends on Eastern Standard Time), the exact time of the autumnal equinox, which is the moment the sun is positioned above the Equator. Sunrise hours and sundown hours are of equal length, and of course, it marks the beginning of the fall season, an incredibly appropriate time of year to listen to Fleet Foxes records.
A companion film will be available at the time of the album's release; the 55-minute visual was shot on Super 16mm film and directed by Kersti Jan Werdal. The video will be available in the embed below tomorrow morning.
