The National are releasing their eighth studio album, I Am Easy to Find, on May 17 via 4AD. Last month, they shared the record’s lead single “You Had Your Soul With You” and, today, they’ve followed it up with the piano ballad “Light Years.”
The song comes with a video that pulls scenes from the band’s upcoming short film, also titled I Am Easy to Find, by Mike Mills and starring Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl).
The 16-track record follows 2017’s Sleep Well Beast and features Sharon Van Etten, Lisa Hannigan, Mina Tindle, Gail Ann Dorsey, Kate Stables, and the Brooklyn Youth Choir. The National will be touring behind the new record for the majority of the rest of the year. They play Marymoor Park on Thursday, August 29.
