Seattle sweethearts Tacocat share a new video today. It's super-meta, but watch a clip for "The Internet" right here... on the internet. The clip, directed by Faye Orlove, is its own Throwback Thursday through technology from that familiar AOL mail icon to emoticons and more. You won't find it on "Tacogle" (watch the clip), but you can find the track itself on Lost Time, their most recent release on Hardly Art. (You can also watch them perform the track right here at KEXP back in June.) [Stereogum]

They've already shared, like, half their album (see here, here, here, and here), but check out another new track from Phantogram below. Their forthcoming full-length, Three, got pushed back to an October 7th release, so you'll have the rest of those songs soon. And then celebrate the album release with them that night at The Paramount. [Under the Radar]

Speaking of Phantogram, they'll appear on this upcoming compilation, The Time Is Now, (also) out October 7th via (not also) Republic Records/Mass Appeal Records. The Time... is actually the '80s as all the bands cover that neon decade: Phantogram tackle Phil Collins, Aloe Blacc takes on "Billie Jean," and Lower Dens take a bite out of Hall & Oates' 1982 hit "Maneater," which you can stream below. All proceeds are being donated to amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. [Pitchfork]

Surprise! Conor Oberst has a new solo album coming out, and instead of sharing tracks one by one until release day (Hi, Phantogram), he's dropped the whole dang thing on the internet now! Go listen below. Appropriately titled Ruminations, Oberst says of the album: "I wasn't expecting to write a record. I honestly wasn't expecting to do much of anything. Winter in Omaha can have a paralyzing effect on a person but in this case it worked in my favor. I was just staying up late every night playing piano and watching the snow pile up outside the window. Next thing I knew I had burned through all the firewood in the garage and had more than enough songs for a record. I recorded them quick to get them down but then it just felt right to leave them alone." Ruminations hits stores October 14th via Nonesuch. [Under the Radar]
