Cuddle up with Sacramento-based noise-pop band Pets. The duo of Allison Jones and Derek Fieth tear through their dark fuzzed-out pop with the cat-like coolness of The Jesus & Mary Chain and the friendly-puppy punk simplicity of The Ramones.
Formed in 2003, Pets have since shared the stage with bands like The Gossip, Matt & Kim, and Dead Meadow, and in 2010, they won the Sacramento Area Music Award for "Outstanding Pop." The husband-wife pairing have had some stylistic changes over the past decade, finally arriving at the blissed-out sonic sound they have now. Their latest album, Get Turned On, features guest drummers Lucy Giles and Kepi Ghoulie, former frontman of garage-rockers the Groovie Ghoulies.
