It's only been, what, 9 years? And the Pixies have a new track! Titled "Bagboy" and with a video that shows exactly how the titular bag boy has fun in life, the track is round-about kicker. "I get no satisfaction from your recent sightings" the song goes, before the guitars jump in with an off-kilter wailing. Check it out below. [Guardian]

Janelle Monáe breaks loose, literally from her regular tuxedo, in favor of an all white hair down ensemble in the new meta-video for "Dance Apocalyptic". "I just got word, there's, there's zombies in Atlanta!" exclaims a news reporter - but Janelle knows that even in the apocalypse pop music will go on making the best of everything. Also worth mentioning: the video is definitely a quirky tribute to Nirvana's excellent flick for "In Bloom". [Pitchfork]

Ever wondered what it would be like to tour the United States with Dan Deacon? I mean, tour as visiting all of the sights? In the expansive 22 minute long video for his suite "USA", you can do just that, tinged with the sonic experimenter's eyes gazing on vistas of all kinds. Mountains, hills, plains, snow, rain, sun - all are included in this psychedelic exploration of the physical and mental state of the United States. Prepared? Dive right on in. [Stereogum]

So lots of music videos came out this week, but none of them have the piercing cinematic qualities of Marus Sonderland's video for the Mount Kimbie track "You Took Your Time", featuring the slow but poignant rapping of King Krule. As if the song didn't start in the kind of deep melancholy that takes place in everyday tragedy, the quietly strange moving portraits of several kids and a mysteriously burning car in the walled off streets of Tillbury will certainly bring you there. Another M.I.A. song surfaced: "Only 1 U" is the glitch heavy bad bouncing rap. Although the album this track may or may not be included on, Matangi, was scheduled for release in 2012, M.I.A. pushed back that date over and over again working to perfect it. Luckily for us, it should be out pretty soon. [NME]

Seattle's Hush Hush Records has another new release by a producer from an obscure location - 17-year-old North Carolinian Alex Cooper, a.k.a. Placeholder, has a soft as pillows new EP, Under. Devised almost as a meditation on the language of hearing, the EP guides the listener through radiant morning fog, ripe with promises of blue-dyed underworlds and waking from deep sleep transcendence.
