Gearing up for the arrival of their second album next month, The Knife has released a video for the single "A Tooth For An Eye". With a group of men following the dance of a young girl, it's a concept that takes a stab at shattering gender stereotypes. I'll let you judge the success of this venture. I do have to say that the song itself is pretty fantastic. [Pitchfork]

Laura Marling has the vocal chops to rank among the greats of folk music. The first track off her next album, Once I Was an Eagle, showcases Marling's pure voice and purposeful use of acoustic guitar. Of course my mind went straight to Joni Mitchell, and that's never a bad thing. When I first gave "Where Can I Go?" a listen I couldn't help but dance around and wish I had already memorized the lyrics. It's one of those songs you can't help but sing along to. [SPIN]

Since the 2009 death of Beau Velasco, The Death Set have been working on a worthy tribute for their band mate. I think their self explanatory, and simply titled, video "We Miss You Beau Velasco" is the ultimate way to honor his memory. The video is filled with famous faces - including Best Fwends, Japanther, Trouble Andrew, and High Places. They each show their respect and love for their friend in clever,unique ways. Some are hilarious and playful, while others are demure and profound. I have no doubt that Velasco is shaking his head and smiling while watching this YouTube video in the sky. [SPIN]

New York band Caveman has released another single from their self titled album (available from Fat Possum on April 2). "Over My Head" is one of those hauntingly beautiful songs that makes you stop and really listen. The soothing guitar paired with Matthew Iwanusa's delicate vocals, shows the band's undeniable talent. Robyn Hitchcock has covered Nick Drake's "Parasite". This song is from an upcoming Drake cover album called Way To Blue: The Songs Of Nick Drake. There is no real reason to cover Drake's song, because I don't see how they could get any better. Hitchcock decided to add some of his own flavor including electric guitar and percussion, and for that I'm willing to give him kudos. [Stereogum]
