Today's Song of the Day, as chosen by Cheryl Waters, host of The Midday Show on KEXP, is "Hush" by The Marías, from the 2021 album CINEMA on Nice Life Recording Company and Atlantic Recording Corporation.
Los Angeles band The Marías was formed in 2016 by vocalist María Zardoya and producer/drummer Josh Conway, and their relationship is at the heart of their highly-anticipated debut album, Cinema.
"We dedicated our whole lives to this album and we were completely devoted," Zardoya told AL DÍA news. "This album is a direct reflection of Josh and I at this point in time, and our experience so far. I think this album has been living between us for a long time, waiting for the moment to come out. We want this album to be an experience for the listeners, an out of this world paradise. I want you to listen to this album, imagine the world and the scene in your head and feel it for yourself.
