Los Angeles-based project Cartalk was formed a few years ago by singer/songwriter Chuck Moore, who's been playing guitar since the age of 11. "I call myself a songwriter first and foremost even though guitar came first," they explained in an interview with Voyage LA. "Songwriting and writing, in general, have been the healer, the challenger, and the teacher at various times in my life. Songwriting helps me pull back and see things from a different perspective."
For instance, today's Song of the Day came from a bailed social event that became a moment of introspection. "I wrote 'Wrestling' back in 2016 when I skipped out on going to a gathering because I wanted to take a look inward," they wrote on Facebook, adding, "I hope it’s doing something for ya." The track was produced by Sarah Tudzin of Illuminati Hotties, mixed by Collin Pastore, and mastered by Jett Galindo at the Bakery. Cartalk will release a full-length album soon.
