As KEXP's Music Director Don Yates pointed out back in July, not much is known about the UK group SAULT. They're said to be a trio from London, and one band member is rumored to be Dean “Inflo” Josiah Cover, who has worked with Michael Kiwanuka, Jungle, and Little Simz, and who has remixed Britney Spears and One Direction. Another member of the band is said to be Chicago-based rapper Melisa Young, aka Kid Sister, who also happens to be on the Forever Living Originals record label that released SAULT's debut album 5. Whoever they are, Yates considers them a contender for Top Albums of the Year, describing them as a "masterful fusion of psychedelic, funky, groovy soul/pop featuring dynamic female vocals that's further distinguished by its use of breakbeats."
