When Bleached say they're hard to kill, you better believe it. The Los Angeles-based sister duo of Jessica and Jennifer Clavin return this summer with the full-length Don’t You Think You’ve Had Enough?, the band's first album written and recorded while sober. (In fact, the album title is a question Jennifer asked herself at a pivotal moment of her life.) “Writing these songs while sober became somewhat of a spiritual experience,” she stated in a press release. “I had to let go, trust the process, and allow an energy beyond my control to be present.”
Today's defiant yet catchy Song of the Day in particular is about “staring down the road towards death and realizing I needed to wake up and get out of my selfish patterns of self destruction.” And the fun, retro-inspired video finds them collaborating with another sister-duo, directors Juliana and Nicky Giraffe. Watch the clip below and then take a Throwback Thursday to their 2016 KEXP in-studio. Bleached return to Seattle on Monday, October 7th at the Crocodile.
