Seattle visionary OCnotes (aka Otis Calvin III) recently dropped his contribution to the fourth volume of Sub Pop’s legendary Singles Club, the “Better Days” b/w “You Don’t Shampoo Your Hair” 7-inch.

Our Song of the Day is the former track, a whirling psychedelic experimentation with distorted vocals and blazing guitars.

OCnotes records under a number of projects including as a member of Knife Knights, one half of Metal Chocolates, one-third of Indian Agent, one-half of Freekazoidz and is a member of the Black Constellation. He also puts in work currently as a live visual artist & musical collaborator with Shabazz Palaces. At KEXP, he DJs the show Sunday Soul every Sunday from 6-9pm. The 7" follows November’s 9-track effort Cocaine Lazzerus.

The fourth incarnation of Sub Pop Singles Club is currently running as a series of 12 limited-edition 7-inch singles from artists like Julien Baker, HIDE, Pallbearer, Uranium Club, Kikagaku Moyo, Man Man, Shannon Lay, Omni, Dreamdecay, and more.

Below, watch OCnotes’ KEXP in-studio performance from 2012.
