Last Friday, Kelsie Hogue released her debut album under the moniker Sir Babygirl, Crush On Me. Taking a unique spin on pop, the queer artist mixes indie-guitar flourishes with traditional bubblegum pop beats and vocals. Our Song of the Day, “Everyone Is a Bad Friend,” was the last single to be released before the drop of her album and takes a sing-song approach of naming the ways she’s wronged the friends in her life such as "Everyone I meet gives me great advice/ but I never give them mine.”
She explains her reasoning for such flippant friendship with the line, “Everyone I meet I think is gonna die/ So we shake our hands/ And we say our goodbyes.” Why invest time in people when we’re all just going to die? I suppose it’s one argument.
