Icelandic quintet Mammút have been playing the Iceland Airwaves Music Festival almost every year since 2005. This year's performance is sure to be one of their most memorable as the Reykjavík-based band will be debuting new material written and recorded for their forthcoming currently-untitled fifth album.
Last month, the band revealed a glimpse of the new LP with the single "Forever On Your Mind", recorded between London and Reyjkaviík, and produced by Árni Árnason of The Vaccines. On their 2017 full-length Kinder Versions, they made the switch from singing in Icelandic to English, and they stick with that on the new track, a song frontwoman Katrína Mogensen describes as "a self-made tornado. It is a self-portrait of storming through life with a heavy, heavy mind, and it’s also dedicated to a few friends in our lives."
Mammút play this Friday, November 8th at the Reykjavík Art Museum for Iceland Airwaves.
