Formed in 1995 and disbanded in late 2003, Seattle's Carissa's Wierd splintered to create bands like Band of Horses and Grand Archives, and kicked off solo careers for Sera Cahoone and Jenn Champion. Champion released her debut album under the moniker last year, titled Single Rider, and she followed it this past summer with the single "Turn Up The Radio" featuring French producer Victor le Masne of Housse de Racket. As for Carissa's Wierd, the band are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut LP Ugly But Honest this year, and Champion and bandmate Mat Brooke have been playing a series of stripped-down shows in its honor. Tomorrow, Saturday, November 16th, they bring the performance to the Fremont Abbey Arts Center for two shows, one already sold out.
