Frances Quinlan began recording under the name Hop Along, Queen Ansleis in 2004, her senior year of high school. The project eventually evolved into the band Hop Along, who just released their fourth full-length Bark Your Head Off, Dog last year on Saddle Creek. In 2020, Quinlan returns to a solo project model for the LP Likewise, her first release under her birth name, out January 31st via Saddle Creek.
Though billed as a solo album, Quinlan brings her Hop Along bandmate Joe Reinhart along for the ride, co-producing the release together from his studio, The Headroom, over the span of a year. “One of the benefits of experience in my case has been that I’ve become a stronger and more adventurous collaborator,” Quinlan states via a press release. “Working with Joe on this made me able to better see that the guitar is just one vehicle... there are so many others to explore.”
Quinlan heads out on tour early next year, including a Thursday, March 5th stop at the Columbia City Theater in Seattle. See all the tour dates and stream today's featured track below.
