Local trio Beverly Crusher have been putting out riff heavy rock n roll since 2015 but have built momentum and a following in the past year by playing rip-roaring shows around town regularly. Our Song of the Day, “Gimmie the Power,” is the first single the band’s released since their 2016 EP Pills Pills Pills and, as usual, it shreds. The rollicking track benefits from its lo-fi production, sounding like it could be from any age or time. Catch Beverly Crusher this Saturday, August 18 at the Mercer X Summit Block Party. The all ages and free event will also feature performances from Telekinesis, Porter Ray, Hibou, Strawberry Mountain, and more.
