Mitski is releasing her highly anticipated follow-up to 2016’s acclaimed Puberty 2 on August 17 via Dead Oceans. Titled Be the Cowboy, the album was recorded with longtime collaborator, Patrick Hyland. “Geyser,” is the gorgeous lead single off the album, which was shared via a Zia Anger-directed video that sees Mitski alone on a grey beach. Mitski says she "experimented in narrative and fiction" and had in mind "a very controlled icy repressed woman who is starting to unravel. Because women have so little power and showing emotion is seen as weakness, this 'character' clings to any amount of control she can get. Still, there is something very primordial in her that is trying to find a way to get out." Mitski recently announced a North American tour behind the album, which includes a stop in Seattle on Wednesday, October 31 at the Showbox.
