Portland-based heavy psychedelic band Blackwater Holylight is on the cusp of breaking through in a big way. The quartet released their debut self-titled album in early April and it's chock full of fantastically fuzzy songs. Our song of the day, "Sunrise," sits in the middle of the album and is a blissed out, spacious beauty. Led by former Grandparents vocalist Allison Faris, the band initially emerged in 2016 and have been wowwing Portland audiences since. Blackwater Holylight will play Big Bldg Records The Bash Kick-off fundraiser show at Chop Suey on Thursday, May 31 with fellow PDX band WEEED.
