An expansive mix of both new and timeless hip-hop, soul, jazz, rock, funk, alternative, and world music with a special focus on independent artists. Songs for liberation and songs for healing. Eva is with you EARLY every weekday from 5-7 AM (pacific time) on KEXP.
Hi, I’m Eva Walker. I play in the rock ‘n’ roll band The Black Tones. I was born and raised here in Seattle, Washington, in a southern family of educators and music lovers. My Louisiana-bred mother and grandparents are a big influence on my music, work ethic, and manners. From producing my first concert at 16-years-old, to raising money for Hurricane Katrina victims, to playing The Paramount stage, I'm excited to contribute my experiences and continue to live and grow this musical journey! I believe in discovering, listening, and experiencing music as much as possible. Along with performing, I teach music at two schools in Seattle and I’m beyond excited to start here at KEXP as the host of Audioasis. I have a big love for Seattle music — from Jimi Hendrix to Jimmy James — and can’t wait to discover even more, learn, and grow with the KEXP audience!
