Jeseul Oh is a Korean/American musician/songwriter born and raised in Seattle who fronts the math rock band plash. Writing songs that are sonically, emotionally, and rhythmically dynamic, he continues to work at creating his own sound that is both odd and warm. With his band plash, they released their breakout debut album i live alone earlier this year on January 23rd and the album sits at a rad intersection of math-rock, art-rock, indie rock, and heavy rock. The band also recently stopped by the station for a mesmerizing Live on KEXP performance that you can view from KEXP's YouTube channel.
For his exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World, Jeseul stitches together "songs I wish I could write, and one that I did" as he journeys through a wide spectrum of styles, spotlights a bunch of influential favorites, and sneaks in his beautifully dynamic debut solo single "ㅅHOWER (sonagi)" that he released back in 2021.
