Alex Ruder

Kennebec is the solo alias of Portland-based multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Eric Phillips. His music explores a lush, beautiful, cinematic blend of downtempo, soul, ambient, neo-classical, hip-hop, and jazz. Late last year he released his wonderful third full-length album The Water Wheel.

For his transcendent, luminous, and meditative guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World, Kennebec shares: "This mix travels the globe taking us from Brazil to Japan, Pakistan and India (north and south) to Bahrain, Oregon to the West Midlands of England. It's a collection of my favorite artists, both deep dives and legendary classics, all that have most influenced my music creation over the years and share many of my favorite qualities of great music - transcendence, honesty, deep craft, and imagination."
