Midnight in a Perfect World: Ivy Lab

Composed of Gove Kidao & J.Fogel, Ivy Lab are a revered London production duo constantly exploring the immersive intersection of leftfield bass, progressive club, heady hip-hop, and halftime styles. Originally brought together out of a shared enthusiasm for experimentations on the fringes of the UK bass music scene, Ivy Lab made their debut in 2013 with the Afterthought EP, boldly introducing their forward-thinking speaker-rattling sound with a sophisticated take on vocal-laced drum and bass that merely hinted at the expansive sound they have tackled since. In addition to their steady stream of studio productions, Ivy Lab are also the driving force behind 20/20 LDN, an event series, record label, and multidisciplinary platform that plays host to their immaculate catalog, curatorial vision, and broader artistic endeavors. Their latest full-length effort Infinite Falling Ground arrived in October 2022 and found the duo tapping into a more introspective hip-hop and moody halftime territory for a supremely seductive set of nocturnal downtempo beats.
