Born in Ohio and currently based in Oakland, Maria BC is a captivating artist creating beautiful, powerful, ethereal ambient-folk music. They made their debut in 2021 with a stunning EP titled Devil’s Rain before unveiling their debut full-length album titled Hyaline in May 2022 on Father/Daughter Records. This year they joined the talented roster of Sacred Bones Records to release their critically-acclaimed sophomore album titled Spike Field, adding another stellar entry into their blossoming catalog.

Describing their mix as "a playlist for rebellion, the moment when grief turns into rage and motion," Maria BC's guest DJ set for Midnight in a Perfect World is an enveloping and hypnotic journey through largely wordless territory that touches upon ambient, drone, folk, and experimental sounds and reflects the haunting beauty of their own music.
