Automatic are a Los Angeles trio carving out a unique lane with their genre-blurring music that blends a love for post-punk, Krautrock, dub reggae, New Wave, synth-pop, and other styles and turns it into an urgent, colorful, and addictive sound. Composed of Izzy Glaudini, Lola Dompé, and Halle Saxon-Gaines, Automatic released their debut full-length album Signals in September 2019 on Stones Throw Records and have recently brought their thrilling live show on tour supporting acts such as Tame Impala, IDLES, and Parquet Courts. Their sophomore album Excess tackles a unique strain of retrofuturist motorik pop and was just released on June 24th.
Describing their mix as "deviant," "angsty," and "releasing," Automatic's Midnight In A Perfect World guest DJ mix provides an insightful glimpse into their deep record collection to share gritty, fuzzy, influential faves that have helped inform their own genre-blurring sound.
