Wajatta is a collaborative project between multi-faceted musician, comedian, and former Seattleite Reggie Watts alongside veteran electronic producer John Tejada. While both have impressive solo careers with lengthy resumés that date back to the mid 1990s, the two LA-based artists joined forces in 2018 to launch Wajatta and released their debut album titled Casual High Technology, an under-the-radar gem at the time that introduced their fresh take on soulful vocal-laced electro-pop. The duo recently signed to Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder label for the release of their charismatic sophomore album titled Don't Let Get You Down that came out this past February.
Their exclusive guest DJ mix for Midnight In A Perfect World leans into their love of deep house grooves and lush minimal tech-house rhythms as they swim through choices selection of underground gems from the likes or Robag Wruhme and the late Mike Huckaby, as well as sneaking in a Wajatta and John Tejada track along the way.
