English experimental krautrock meets electronic trio BEAK> have announced a new EP titled Life Goes On due for release on June 21. Made up of Portishead’s Geoff Barrow, Robert Plant bassist Billy Fuller, and Moon Gangs’ Will Young, the band released their third full-length >>> last year. The trio has shared the title track off the EP, which starts with a girl chanting before breaking into a psych-tinged groover.

A press release says the band was inspired “directly from a recent trip to Mexico City for a festival when the band awoke to the sound of a distorted young girls' voice bellowing across the city. Further investigation revealed the source as a recording used by scrap-collecting carts urging people to bring out old beds and washing machines. Returning to the UK filled with inspiration, Billy, Geoff, and Will hot-footed it to the Invada studios to record. The resultant track features the young girl’s voice in the intro before ‘Life Goes On’."

BEAK> are heading out on a largely sold-out European tour next week. Below, listen to “Life Goes On” and watch BEAK>’s KEXP in-studio performance from last year below.
