Brooklyn trio Yeasayer have returned to announce their fifth studio album, Erotic Reruns. Due for release on June 7 via the band’s own Yeasayer Records, the 9-track effort is described as their “most direct, cut-to-the-bone album yet.”

The experimental rock band has shared two songs off the record, the chugging “Let Me Listen In On You” and the dance jam “Fluttering in the Floodlights.” Recently, they shared the single “I’ll Kiss You Tonight,” which also appears on the album.

According to the press release, “The seeds for this album were planted while the band was touring in 2016 during the final moments of the election, and the result is a vehement reaction to what followed.” Throughout the record are a number of political easter eggs, including allusions toward James Comey’s firing and name-checking Sarah Sanders and Stephen Miller.

Erotic Reruns was written and produced solely by the band (Chris Keating, Anand Wilder, and Ira Wolf) and was recorded in their home studios, giving the band complete control over the end product. The record follows 2016’s Amen & Goodbye.

Yeasayer also announced a tour behind the album, with a date in Seattle on Wednesday, June 26 at the Neptune.
