Not completely unsurprisingly, Modest Mouse has unveiled a new single today called “Poison the Well.” The song was teased last month via cryptic puzzles mailed out the fans that spelled the song’s title. The single is a fuzz-filled stomper that flies by quickly at only two and a half minutes. No word on whether a forthcoming album is on its way but there will be a second song, the second half of a 7” on triangular mint green vinyl including “Poison the Well” due out for Record Store Day on April 13.

It was recently announced that the Issaquah-born and currently Portland-based band would join The Black Keys on an extensive U.S. arena tour in September. They’ll play the Tacoma Dome on Saturday, November 23 with Shannon and the Clams. Modest Mouse’s last record was 2015’s Strangers to Ourselves.

Although many would label them with…
