Despite Guru's death in 2010, the pioneering hip hop duo Gang Starr are self-releasing a new album titled One Of The Best Yet out November 1st. A press release states surviving band member DJ Premier worked with Guru's ashes atop his production console throughout the recording process. Premier said:

“I never lost faith, or wavered. I still felt it inside of me, it just happened to be nine years later (after Guru’s passing). We all want the things we want right now, but I am a patient guy. I hung in there and I just kept believing.”

The album features the late Guru’s vocals, as well as guest appearances from Q-Tip, Talib Kweli, Royce Da 5’9″, Ne-Yo, J. Cole, and more. Check out the full track listing and the new single “Bad Name” below. One Of The Best Yet marks the band's first new album since 2003’s The Ownerz.
