The musician known as Jitwam is a bit of an enigma. He was born in Northeast India, he's currently based in Brooklyn, he spent his formative years in New Zealand and Australia, and has lived in monasteries in Thailand, orphanages in South Africa, and washed out apartments in London. His constantly shifting surroundings is reflected in his brilliantly diverse music. His releases are a sonic melting pot of warped soul, house, R&B, hip-hop, woozy psych-pop, distorted blues, and everything in-between. He released his breakout debut full-length album last year, and just released a new EP titled Purple on The Jazz Diaries label. His exclusive guest DJ mix is a magnetic journey through a vast array of styles, touching upon psychedelic soul, hypnotic house, lively funk, spacey hip-hop, global pop, sultry R&B, and much more. Although wide-ranging in vibes, it's all held beautifully together by Jitwam's razor-sharp ear for track selection and ability to capture a groovy intoxicating zone.
