Last year, LCD Soundsystem returned with their first album in seven years, after their intended retirement, American Dream. Today, the album’s opening track, “Oh Baby” has received the video treatment by director Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Brick). The cinematic film stars Sissy Spacek and David Strathairn as scientists and romantic partners working to develop a special invention only to get tragically derailed. “My goal would be that it works as a video for the song and the song works as a good soundtrack of the film. Rather than a video that serves the song,” explains James Murphy. As of now, the video is exclusively available on Tidal.

LCD Soundsystem’s Gavin Rayna Russom and Nancy Whang are embarking on their “Ladies of LCD Soundsystem” tour next month, with a date in Seattle on Friday, October 19 at Eden.
