Big Thief frontwoman Adrianne Lenker has announced a new solo album titled abysskiss due out Oct. 5 via Saddle Creek. The album was co-produced with Luke Temple of Here We Go Magic and recorded by Gabe Wax. She's also shared the album’s delicate lead single “cradle” and says this about abysskiss: "I want to archive the songs in their original forms every few years. My first solo record I made was Hours Were the Bird. I had just turned 21 and moved to New York City where I was sleeping in a warehouse, working in a restaurant and photographing pigeons. Now five years later, another skin is being shed." Big Thief released their sophomore album, Capacity, last year. Catch them at the Neptune on Friday, September 21 with local band Iji. Listen to “cradle” below and watch Big Thief’s KEXP in-studio session from 2017.
