Joseph Maus, younger brother and bandmate of synth musician John Maus, died Saturday, July 28th at the age of 30. Maus was on tour with his brother across Europe and passed away in Cesis, Latvia. A statement from Maus’ label Ribbon Music was issued today, confirming the news: “We offer our deepest and most sincere condolences to Joe’s family, Robert Sue, Kevin, Stephanie, and John Maus, as well as his bandmates Luke and Jonathan, his friends, and all those suffering this tragic loss.” John Maus has canceled all his upcoming tour dates. The cause of death is unknown. Earlier this year, John Maus released his fifth studio album Addendum. Watch their January 2018 KEXP in-studio session below:
