British crooner Sampha stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden last night and brought some very talented friends with him. He was there to perform the song “Treasure” off of the soundtrack to the Steve Carell film Beautiful Boy. His A-team of backing musicians included saxophonist Kamasi Washington, pianist Robert Glasper, cellist Kelsey Lu, and serpentwithfeet on backing vocals. The passionate performance features moody lighting surrounding the accomplished musicians as Sampha’s heavenly vocals soar throughout the studio.

Nearly all the musicians on the Corden stage have released critically acclaimed music in the past year. Sampha released his Mercury Award-winning debut album Process in 2017, Kamasi Washington released his grand double album Heaven and Earth this year, Kelsey Lu has released a series of singles in 2018 including “Due West” and “Shades of Blue,” and serpentwithfeet unveiled his debut album soil in June.

Watch their performance of “Treasure” as well as Sampha’s 2017 KEXP in-studio performance below.
