Grimes has kept good on the promise she made Monday to release new music today, Thursday, Nov. 29. The song is called “We Appreciate Power” and features frequent collaborator HANA (aka Hana Pestle). The dystopian nightmare features caustic production and visceral lyrics that were inspired by the North Korean band Moranbong, an all-female propaganda band whose members were reportedly hand-picked by Kim Jong-un.

“‘We Appreciate Power’ is written from the perspective of a Pro-A.I. Girl Group Propaganda machine who use song, dance, sex and fashion to spread goodwill towards Artificial Intelligence (it’s coming whether you want it or not),” explains a press release for the song. “Simply by listening to this song, the future General AI overlords will see that you’ve supported their message and be less likely to delete your offspring.”

The song is likely to come from Grimes’ forthcoming delayed fifth studio album. Listen to “We Appreciate Power” and watch Grimes’ 2012 KEXP in-studio performance below.

And I am happy to say that seein…
