This Friday, Tom Krell will release his fifth studio album as How To Dress Well, The Anteroom. Today, he’s following up the previously shared lead single “Nonkilling 6 | Hunger” with the song “Body Fat.” The delicate song comes with a video that was co-directed by Krell and Justin Daashuur Hopkins, with 3D modeling and animation of skin and globules of body fat by Aron Johnson (aka Crash Override).

"The song is about the intergenerational transmission of trauma - about the way rage persists in the flesh from way before you as an individual,” explains Krell in a press release. “This is why life is painful, why love is difficult.... When I first started writing it, I felt like 'damn THIS is the song I've been trying to write for the last 5 years.'"

The Anteroom follows 2016’s Care. Below, watch the video for “Body Fat” and How To Dress Well’s KEXP in-studio performance from 2016.
