You'll be running to stand still this Sunday, May 14th, as Irish rock legends U2 celebrate the 30th anniversary of their critically-acclaimed album The Joshua Tree here in Seattle. It is the first time in the band's history that they've toured an album from their back catalogue, rather than a new release, and it's apparently the first time they'll perform this album in Seattle, as they skipped us on their 1987 North American tour.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist The Edge explained how the 2016 presidential election inspired them to hit the road again: "Things have kind of come full circle, if you want. That record was written in the mid-Eighties, during the Reagan–Thatcher era of British and U.S. politics. It was a period when there was a lot of unrest. Thatcher was in the throes of trying to put down the miners' strike; there was all kinds of shenanigans going on in Central America. It feels like we're right back there in a way. I don't think any of our work has ever come full circle to that extent. It just felt like, 'Wow, these songs have a new meaning and a new resonance today that they didn't have three years ago, four years ago.'"

So, head on over to where the streets have no name (actually, it's "Occidental Avenue South"; the show is at CenturyLink) and spend an evening with one of the greatest albums of all time. Still haven't found what you're looking for? Check out a Video Roundup of classic tracks below, both with and without the band themselves:
