Anika is the stage name of British-born, frequently Berlin-based singer, songwriter, and political journalist Annika Henderson, a magnetic vocalist and writer that emerged as a solo artist in 2010 with releases on Portishead member Geoff Barrow's Invada Records as well as the highly revered Stones Throw Records. Anika now fronts the four-piece band Exploded View, a new project backed by a trio of veteran musicians she met during her Mexican live debut in 2014, and they just unveiled their debut album of haunting and groovy improvisational post-punk jams this summer on Sacred Bones Records. Her guest DJ mix for Midnight in a Perfect World is a special all 7" vinyl set that showcases gems from her record collection while simultaneously displaying many of her sonic inspirations. As she fittingly prefaces, "It's a bit crackly but it's real life ;)"
