  • That Father John Misty is always up to something. From fake rejected Pandora promos to rogue House of Cards lyrics, and now composing a car commercial jingle. Check out "Prius Commercial Demo 1" below. Mr. Misty (or, y'know, "Josh Tillman") hits all the crowd-pleasing elements, adding rousing Hey! Ho!s in there. Don't you want to buy a Prius now? [Under the Radar]

  • Brazilian band Boogarins just recently stopped by El Sonido on KEXP, sending our staff into a psychedelic trance with their ’60s-inspired sound. Today, the group share a video from their most recent release Manual, out now on Other Music. Watch the appropriately surreal clip for "Benzin" below: [Stereogum]

  • As if Father John Misty's Prius commercial didn't sound enough like a Bruce Springsteen song, punk royalty Kathleen Hanna offers up her own rendition of the 1984 single "Dancing in the Dark." The former Bikini Kill frontwoman recorded her version for the soundtrack to the film Maggie’s Plan, in which she also makes a cameo. The movie stars Julianne Moore, Greta Gerwig, Ethan Hawke, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, and Wallace Shawn, and opens on May 20th. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Garage rockers Hinds share a new clip today that seems inspired by a Snapchat filter. Watch as their faces get messier and messier in this video directed by John Strong. The band say on their YouTube page that the song is about "the worst moment in the universe during a relationship cause you love him but he doesn't anymore. And being in bed with him is giving him nightmares. And you are the hangover in his mornings, and the homework during the day and the pain in his arse. so when you reach that point you can't help but self destruct. there is just nothing you can do, it's too late to take it easy."
