It's the moment we've all been waiting for: this Saturday, April 16th, KEXP will throw open the doors to the KEXP New Home with a free, all-ages celebration from Noon until 9:00 PM. Come see the station you helped build! There will be tours, food, beer, and, of course, what matters most: music.
If anyone understands the mission of KEXP, it's singer/songwriter Timothy Showalter. With his project Strand of Oaks, he bravely faces the pains in his past and present (marital problems, near-death experiences, homeless, and unfortunately, more), using music to exorcise his demons, and transforming them into uplifting anthems. Music has the power to HEAL, which is not surprisingly, the title of his 2014 debut for Dead Oceans. Showalter brings his band back to Seattle for a 12:30 PM performance in the Gathering Space.
