Song of the Day: Glow Kit - Christmas Daze

Every Monday through Friday, we deliver a different song as part our Song of the Day podcast subscription. This podcast features exclusive KEXP in-studio performances, unreleased songs, and recordings from independent artists that our DJs think you should hear. This week, we are featuring Christmas-themed songs selected by Brian Foss, host of Sonic Reducer, KEXP's punk show. Brian has been doing a punk rock Christmas special every year since 2004, and has been a Christmas day on air DJ since 2012. No standards are played, only original songs, most with a humorous bent.

Glow Kit are from Denmark and have been making music for close to 10 years. I really do not know that much about them, but I really love this song. I first heard it a couple of years ago and the melody remains stuck in my head in a very pleasant way. "This time of year brings the worse out in you" / "Christmas Daze, I can't keep up with the pace" - I am a sucker for dark lyrics sung in a sunny manner.
