A quick look at the Restorations tour schedule might have your eyes glazing over. After releasing their third studio album (LP3) in only four years at the end of 2014, the Philly indie-rockers have spent most of 2015 tirelessly touring across the U.S., the U.K., and even Jamaica. Or as singer/guitarist Jon Louden puts it, “We’re kind of going at it all the time; we don’t really stop.” Live in the KEXP studio, the group’s hard work pays off as their churning guitars and emphatic, at times triumphant, vocals create anthem ready rock that is as natural as it is epic. The band shows impressive range as well, starting the session off with a huge five-man jam on “Misprint” and then sliming down to a sparse guitar/vocal/drum arrangement during moments of “All My Home.” With clever nods to second wave emo, post-punk, and early 00s alt rock, Restorations can do it all. Plus, they love coffee. Get your daily boost below:
