On their Twitter page, The Foetals proclaim themselves the "greatest pop band," and while it's healthy to have a good self-esteem, it's probably more accurate to say they're influenced by the greats. You can definitely hear strains of The Beach Boys and The Beatles in their fuzzed out DIY sound.
The Foetals are actually just one guy: Jolan Lewis, frontman for The Pink Teens, Temple Songs, and Aldous RH, to name a few. Earlier this year, Lewis was diagnosed with cancer, putting The Pink Teens on hiatus as he went through chemotherapy. But, the songs kept coming, taking shape under this new name. His debut full-length, Meet The Foetals, was recorded in just two days in his own small studio outside of Manchester.
