Formed in 1991 by Seattle native Dave Green, Noise for the Needy threw its first concert to raise money for a struggling soup kitchen in Southern California. In 2004, Dave’s brother Richard, with the help of Jeffrey Henry, continued the tradition here in Seattle while Dave continued to get his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California.

Over the years, the non-profit has raised over $125,000 for local charities, working with over 350 artists. In a press release, Richard Green stated, "Over the last decade we’ve raised thousands of dollars for charities, met wonderful people, and learned so much along the way. We’re going to begin new music-oriented fund raising projects, but in order to focus our efforts on future plans the time has sadly come to wind up NFTN. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who’s been a part of these events, and we look forward to seeing you in Ballard."

Festival wristbands are sold out, but individual show tickets can be purchased online here.
