  • To those of you who might not know, Nirvana will soon be inducted by R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The inductees will include Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl. The latter two members will be performing with Pat Smear (who will not be inducted); however, there is heavy debate about just exactly who will sing Cobain's lead vocals. Stereogum suggests that Joan Jett might fill the void but, at the moment, there is still much to be determined. For $20, you can tune into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame simulcast beginning tomorrow night, April 10th, at 7 P.M. Other inductees for the 2014 year include: Peter Gabriel, Daryl Hall and John Oates, KISS, Linda Ronstadt, and Cat Stevens. [Stereogum]
  • Wavves frontman Nathan Williams has a new side project, Sweet Valley, with his brother Kynan. On their forthcoming mixtape, Ghetto Cuisine, they've teamed up with Bay Area rapper DaVinci. Stream the track "I Got That Line" below, and download the entire mix tomorrow via Fool's Gold. [Pitchfork]

  • The set times for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have been announced. Despite the great news, this means, of course, plenty of artistic conflicts will present themselves. For example, without thinking, decide between Future Islands and MGMT. Empire of the Sun or Mogwai? Chromeo or Broken Bells? The overlaps are a bit disheartening; however, the previously unannounced Pixies will be playing a surprise, conflict-free show the first Saturday. [Pitchfork]

  • Members of The Mars Volta have united with Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist Flea in order to form a new super-group, Antemasque. Currently, there is little available online, save for a promotional video and a clip from their rehearsal sessions. You can check out their promo below: [Consequence of Sound]
