Justin Vernon, James Blake, Thom Yorke, Pat Grossi — all artists whose voices soar happily in the upper register. Add to them James Vincent McMorrow. With his gorgeously produced new LP, Post Tropical, the Irish singer-songwriter left his folky debut in the dust, choosing instead horns, synths, and other lush pop instrumentation to bear his soulful voice even higher. Last Friday, we invited McMorrow and his band to transform our studio space with his expansive sound, in the third session of our ongoing Live Streaming Video series. You can watch the performance again and again through the videos linked below. To watch the next Live Streaming Video session as it happens, head over to KEXP.ORG this Friday, March 28, at 1PM for The War on Drugs live in the KEXP studio.
