  • Our friends at Merge Records are celebrating their 25th Anniversary all year long -- not only with our recent SXSW showcase, a buncha great reissues, and a 25K run, but with Merge 25, a four-day music festival taking place July 23rd through 26th in the label's hometown of Carrboro, NC. They've just announced the first batch of artists playing, which includes Neutral Milk Hotel, Destroyer, Lambchop (performing Nixon in full), Wye Oak, Bob Mould, the Clientele, Caribou, the Rock*A*Teens, and Ex Hex. Passes go on sale to the general public tomorrow, Friday, March 21st at 11 AM EST. [Stereogum]
  • Another great festival, Pitchfork Music Festival, just announced the full 2014 lineup. Added to the previously announced artists including Beck, Neutral Milk Hotel and Kendrick Lamar are St. Vincent, Dum Dum Girls, Real Estate, Danny Brown, Cloud Nothings and many others. Pitchfork Music Fest takes over Chicago's Union Park on Friday, July 18 through Sunday, July 20. Tickets are available now. [Pitchfork]

  • Former Pixies bassist Kim Deal has been releasing a series of solo 7" singles, and the fourth installment finds her teaming up with Whispertown singer Morgan Nagler. The single comes out April 1st, featuring some stunning cover art from Vaughan Oliver, known for his work with 4AD. Watch the video below -- shot on a camera phone! -- and stay tuned for the fifth installment, which will feature Britt Walford of Slint. [Spin]

  • It's just a snippet, but check out UK trio London Grammar covering the INXS 1988 hit "Devil Inside" for HBO's Game of Thrones. The show kicks off its fourth season on April 6th. [Consequence of Sound]

  • Kudos to Seattle's own Sean Horton, who was recently named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the "50 Most Important People in EDM" (#43, to be exact). Over the past decade, this local promoter/DJ/musician has brought amazing acts from around the globe to Decibel Festival. Congratulations, Sean! [The Stranger's Line Out]
